Exotic Care and Surgery

Dr. Dickinson is Cooley Animal Clinic's exotic and pocket pet veterinarian.  She will see an array of pets including birds, rabbits, rodents, guinea pigs, ferrets and some reptiles.  If you do not see your species of exotic pet listed, just give us a call and we will ask Dr. Dickinson if she is interested in examining him!

Dr. Dickinson requires that exotics new to our clinic undergo a thorough exam.  She will also discuss proper pet care at that time.  Subsequent appointments can be made solely for trimming nails, beaks, and wings.

Sometimes even exotic animals require surgery! We use a chamber with Isoflurane gas to anesthetize our tiny patients.  A rabbit is an example of a pet that often requires anesthesia to file down overgrown teeth.

Cooley Animal Clinic and Dr. Dickinson are unable to examine or treat wild animals.  A special license is required to handle wildlife.
