Surgical Services

Cooley Animal Clinic offers everything from routine elective surgeries to referral orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.  We use injectable and Isoflurane gas anesthesia.  Our patients are intubated and, as in human hospitals, we monitor and record your pet's vital signs throughout the procedure.  Your pet will receive pain medication based on her individual needs to keep her as comfortable as possible.

Surgery is scheduled mornings Monday through Friday.  We ask that your pet does not eat after 8:00 p.m. the night before surgery, but water is okay.  We need you to arrive at 8:00 a.m. the day of surgery.  Upon arrival the doctor will examine your pet and answer any questions that you might have.  Most elective surgical patients will go home the same day.  Patients that have more extensive surgery may stay overnight.  Cats that are declawed will always stay overnight and will have bandages removed the following morning.

Cooley Animal Clinic often accepts referrals from other animal clinics for surgical procedures.  Dr. Cooley is experienced at repairing complex fractures, blown or torn cruciate ligaments, luxating patellas, and limb amputations.

Please call us if you have any questions regarding our surgical services!
